The Power of Love!

By February 13, 2023Uncategorized

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and love is definitely in the air.  We can feel it at Cuisine for Healing, and we know that it shows in the food we make.  Food has been connected to love for centuries, as families sit down at the table together to connect; joyous memories are formed as you share the food you love.  There is a lot of power in that connection. Food is a way to bring people together, and if the food is delicious and nourishing, the relationships fostered over that plate will also be nourishing.

Having meaningful relationships contributes to health in big ways such as lowering stress and anxiety, reducing blood pressure and even extending your life span.  Blue zone communities are groups of individuals around the world that are documented to have longer life spans.  Researchers have studied the common ground between these groups of long living individuals and found many similarities. They have healthier diets on average, but it seems it’s not only what they are eating but who they are eating with.  Each of these groups maintains strong social and community connections. Having a reason to wake up in the morning plays a big part in life satisfaction and fulfillment.

Showing love can make a huge difference in someone’s life, it doesn’t have to be a monumental task. Connecting with others to show love and appreciation is just as beneficial for the person giving as it is the person receiving.  This kind of positivity can have a rippling effect on our community, as kindness is passed on from person to person.  Here are a few simple ways you can spread love and positivity into your community:

  • Express appreciation in your workplace
  • Be a good listener
  • Share a meal with someone
  • Reach out to a loved one you haven’t spoken to in a while

What are some other ways you share love and positivity? We would love to hear what you do.

As we working in the kitchen, we like to think of those sweet memories being created over the food we are preparing. Our way of sharing love and positivity is through preparing food. We hope you can taste it in the meals we make.  If you don’t have a Valentine’s date this year, come see us at Cuisine, we would love to have you any time.

Love,

The Cuisine for Healing Family
